This PL session will focus on the the experiences and history of the Pullman Porters Union, examining how the union as an example of a successful solidarity movement building between African American and Filipino American Porters, while engaging in learning and practice of key culturally responsive disciplinary inquiry skills, and giving teachers practical planning supports and models of how to integrate powerful community resources within existing CPS Social Science curriculum.
