This engaging workshop on adapted physical education is led by Terri Laughlin and is designed to provide educators with the tools to create inclusive physical education programs for students with various abilities. Through interactive activities and practical examples, you will gain a deeper understanding of fostering a supportive and equitable learning environment with the SHAPE America National Physical Education Standards serving as the foundation. Designed with flexibility in mind, the workshop is structured so that the content will make complete sense even if you are only able to attend either the morning or the afternoon session. This session will explore strategies for adapting standards-based activities in a physical education environment to meet individual needs, ensuring all students can participate meaningfully and safely. Participants will learn about: Program planning; Various learning domain supports; Implementation of inclusive strategies in physical education.
