This PL session will center the experiences and history of Public Housing in Chicago and the US as participants are guided to understanding the critical role of governments, racist systems, and community advocacy in how public housing policy has been shaped, engage teachers in learning and practice of key culturally responsive disciplinary inquiry skills, and give teachers practical planning supports and models of how to integrate powerful community resources within existing CPS Social Science curriculum.
