This engaging workshop on adapted physical education is led by Terri Laughlin and is designed to provide educators with the tools to create inclusive physical education programs for students with various abilities. Through interactive activities and practical examples, you will gain a deeper understanding of fostering a supportive and equitable learning environment with the SHAPE America National Physical Education Standards serving as the foundation. Designed with flexibility in mind, the workshop is structured so that the content will make complete sense even if you are only able to attend either the morning or the afternoon session.
This session will explore strategies for adapting standards-based activities in a physical education environment to meet individual needs, ensuring all students can participate meaningfully and safely.

Set the stage for your most impactful school year yet. This intensive, three-hour "Teacher Leaders Lead" session is designed to equip you with high-leverage peer practices that turn the chaotic first weeks of school into a streamlined foundation for student achievement.
Through a dynamic, station-based rotation, you will collaborate with colleagues to refine the inclusivity practices in your classroom, improve your routines, and focus on setting quality learning goals for the year ahead.

Following the official release of our updated Health and Physical Education curriculum materials this past June, the HPE Department invites you to an essential, hands-on professional learning session designed to set you up for success.
This session is crafted to help you seamlessly integrate the new assessments and resources into your daily instruction. Together, we will unpack the new materials, collaborate with peers, and ensure a cohesive approach to student health and physical literacy across the district.
You will get an early look at the updated formative and summative assessment tools designed to accurately measure student progress.
Please bring any current assessment materials that you use to implement your current program and we will work together to continue to provide high quality, standards aligned assessments in your classroom.
